Mithali was born in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, on December 3, 1982. Her mother, Leela Raj, was a housewife, and her father, Dorai Raj, was an officer in the Indian Air Force. Mithali’s father encouraged her to pursue her goals because she was always interested in cricket as a child. She began playing cricket when she was ten years old, and she quickly progressed through the ranks.

Mithali made her breakthrough in 1999 when, at the age of 16, she made her debut for the Indian women’s cricket team. She has since grown to be an essential member of the team, participating in more than 200 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and becoming the first woman to score more than 7,000 ODI runs. Mithali is regarded as one of the greatest female cricketers of all time because of her consistency and longevity in the sport. She has made her way into the record books.

In addition, Mithali has led the Indian team to numerous victories, most notably the Asia Cup in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, and 2012. She has also led the team to the Women’s World Cup final in 2005 and 2017, where India came very close to winning the tournament. She has been nicknamed “Captain Cool” due to her calm demeanor on the field and her leadership abilities.
